Futures

The Program recognizes that a combined, interdisciplinary degree is particularly well positioned to prepare doctoral students for a broadened range of careers: from faculty positions, curatorship, and special-collections librarianship, to arts education and programming, translation and transcultural mediation, the stewardship of non-profit organizations and foundations, and for some, careers in politics and diplomacy. Supporting and scaffolding these varied trajectories is integral to the Program’s vision for the futures of the field. It therefore facilitates a range of flexible pathways and building blocks for student aspirations and serves as a crucial intellectual hub for faculty and students across campus.
